Life after death
What happens when we die?
Where does our soul go?
Do we immediately stand before our Creator?
What is the Resurrection for?
What is the Rapture?
When will it take place?
What is the thousand years of peace and when will it begin?
All questions I have been asked from time to time. For the most part there is no out and out direct answer in the scriptures, however the answers are still there. One need only to look read and understand the teachings of the Hebrew people of the time.
First, What happens when we die? Let's look at this as Yahusha presents it in the Scriptures. In several places Yahusha spoke of death as sleep. Example John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he said unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Yahusha's disciples misunderstood what Yahusha was saying and Yahusha corrected them by telling them out right, "John 11:14 Then said Yahusha unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
Have you ever laid down and slept, then awaken and not know what day or time it was? Sure you have. Every time you wake up. When you first wake up you truly have no ideal as to the day or time. We assume that we have only slept a few hours but can not be certain until we start to learn certain things. First most of us look at a clock learn the time of day. Next we will learn just what day it is we learn this from others. Why do I bring this up? Simple, it the same thing when we lay down and sleep the LONG sleep (death) and awake when we hear the blast from the Trumpet. We rise and go to stand before our Creator at this exact time we have no ideal whether we have been asleep for a few hours or a few thousand years. In reality time and day will mean nothing. We will be standing before Yahuah and His son Yahusha.
So where does our soul go when we die? It goes no where, it stays with the remains. Even when the remains turn to dust. The soul or spirit remains with what is left of the body. Now we could get into a discussion as to what happens when a body is cut up and different parts are buried in various places, but that would not be profitable to anyone. Nor can it be proven by anyone. I will say that I think it would remain with where ever the brain is, if that would matter. For when it comes to the Resurrection Yahuah will gather the body together from wherever it is.
What is the Resurrection for? What is the Rapture? When will it take place?
The First Resurrection (not to be confused with the resurrection of the Messiah which has already happen) and the Rapture is in a sense the same thing. Now there are more than one Resurrection but only one Rapture. The first Resurrection and the Rapture will take place when Yahusha returns to call up His Church. My opinions sometime before 2050 give or take a few decades. The Rapture is describes in two portions first the dead in the Messiah will rise then those who are alive and in the Messiah will be changed in the twinkle of an eye, 1 Cor 15:51 - 52 and will join the Messiah in the air. Yahusha said, Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Also in Luke 17:24 For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. This brings us to another point and that is when will the rapture be? Simply put we don't know. Yahusha said no man not even the angles in Heaven know the day or hour. However He points to the day and we can know the day and hour with out knowing the day or hour. How can this be? Simple, take this sample, if someone tells you, You don't know when I will be back, I'll will see you Friday and today is Monday March 1, 2004 and come Friday March 5,2004 he doesn't show who is wrong him or you? Notice he didn't say which Friday, he just said Friday. Now if he shows up on any day other than a Friday he is wrong. On the other hand should he show up on a Friday 20 years later he did not give you false information did he? Remember he said out right, "You don't know when I will be back." Ok what am I getting to? Yahuah does everything in order. If you look at the scriptures you will notice Yahuah gave us Seven High Sabbaths which to keep every year. The seventh is a time of rest and joyful festival. We will concentrate here on the last seven major events and the last two events of the previous events. Starting with the last two of the pervious set of seven events. Yahusha was born on Tishri 15 first day of Sukkoth or the feast of Tabernacles, the beginning of the second to the last High Sabbath of the year. Yahusha was circumcised and named eight days later on Tishri 23 Simchat Torah or The Last Great Feast. This concludes the pervious set of events. Next comes Passover and the feast of unleavened bread. This is the time when Yahusha gave up His life for us. He was and is our Passover lamb, not our sin offering. He visited people and His disciples during the next few weeks, which coincides with the Feast of unleavened bread. He ascended up to Heaven then on Shavuot or The Feast of Pentecost He sent His Comforter The Holy Spirit. Next in line is The Feast of Trumpets. There is several things interesting about this High Sabbath. First this is the only two-day festival we have. It is the only High Sabbath we never know exactly when it will take place until it actually starts. It is the only High Sabbath that the Trumpets are sounded right at daylight. Yahusha says He will return with the sound of the Trumpet. The Scriptures say the dead will rise first (first day) and then those who or alive and in The Messiah will be called up(second day). This being the case we can not know until it happens what day or hour it will begin. Why we don't know on what day nor what hour the Feast of Trumpets begin until it begins. Yahusha says in Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for you know not what hour The Messiah does come.
Now all of this points to a Pre Tribulation Rapture. However there are verses which point to a post Tribulation Rapture such as Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Therefore we teach a Post Tribulation Rapture and Pray for a Pre-Tribulation Rapture.
Next event is Yom Kippur or The Day of Atonement This coincides with HaSatan being bound for a thousand years. Next comes a Thousand years of peace. During this time the 144,000 Hebrew, NOT Jews, Jews will make up only 12,000 of the 144,000. They will present/teach all those who have never heard the words of Yahuah and Yahusha. They will get their one chance to accept the Truth of Yahuah or reject it. Their choice same as it is your choice right now. They don't get a second chance and neither do you. It's a one shot deal, accept or reject. Next in line is the Simchat Torah or Last Great Feast. This is when HaSatan shall be loosed out from his prison and allowed to gather together his followers to do battle against Yahuah. See Revelation chapter 20.
Yahusha says in Revelation 22: 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward
is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to
the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers,
and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.
16 I Yahusha have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the
churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning
star.
