Who are The Messianic Hebrews
Messianic Hebrews are those who have come to see and understand that Yahusha, (Yáh-üsh-áh ) is Israel's true Messiah, and have come to understand who Yahusha really is from a truly scriptural perspective. The name "Yahusha" is the true name of the Messiah, and literally translates into English to mean "Salvation", though others commonly refer to him as someone else in the so called New Testament. In any case, Messianic Hebrews believe that the Messiah came into the world, shed his blood as a covering for sin, and rose from the dead, in fulfillment of the Hebrew Prophets such as Isaiah: "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the chastisement of our welfare is upon him, and by his wounds we are healed". (Is.53:5).
Having considered what Yahuah has said in the Holy Scriptures, Messianic Hebrews are those who understand that Yahusha is Redeemer of Israel and eternal King of all the earth. The belief of Messianic Hebrews in Yahusha the Messiah is founded upon the Holy Scriptures in their entirety, including Torah, (first five books of the so called Old Testament), The Tadiran (first five books of the so called New Testament) The Ketuvin (Holy writings including the last twenty one books of the so called New Testament except the very last book) and the Neviim (Prophets including the very last book of the so called New Testament). However, in regards to the teachings of our Hebrew fathers known as the "oral tradition", which is categorize in Talmud, midrash, and other writings, there is a wide spectrum of beliefs among Messianic Hebrews, even as there is among the Reformed, Conservative and Orthodox Jews. Some of the Messianic Hebrews, like the Reformed, take a more liberal approach, and basically consider Talmudic authority to either not exist, or to have been abolished by the coming of Yahusha. Then some of Messianic Hebrews believe, as the Orthodox, that Yahuah approved appointed men of Yahisrael with rabbinic and judicial authority, and that, therefore, the writings of our Hebrew fathers are an essential and inseparable ingredient of Torah observance. In the Messianic Hebrew movement they are referred to as "Conservative. The Orthodox Messianic Hebrews believe that The Torah is as binding up on mankind today as it ever has been. The Orthodox Messianic Hebrews accept Rabban authority only as it pertains to a given situation. The Rabbans teachings are studied and re-taught provided they pass the Torah test.
Messianic Hebrews are definitely not Christians, and they are not just Jews. They are believers in Yahusha who maintain a Biblical (Jewish) life style in accordance to the Torah as well as the teachings of Yahusha Son of Yahuah. Messianic Hebrews willingly choose to remain separate from the world-wide institutions known as "Christianity" and "Judaism". Messianic Hebrews are not "missionaries" and do not encourage Jews or Christians to become Messianic Hebrews. Orthodox Messianic Hebrews do not forsake the Law of Moses in any respect. Simply said, "Orthodox Messianic Hebrews, accept Messiah and the so called New Testament in such a way that we do not cease to observe the Law given in the Torah." Messianic Hebrews are distinct from Jews only in the belief that Yahusha is the Messiah. The Messianic Hebrews hold that we may receive Eternal Life only through the belief that atonement of our sin comes by his blood, and of service to Yahuah according to the Spirit of the Torah.
Historically, all of the first believers in Yahusha were Jews. In Biblical times, the Jews who believed in Yahusha became known as "HaDerech" (lit. "The Way"), which can be found in the book of Acts, and also in the historical documentaries recorded by Josephus, a 1st century Jewish historian. They were also known as the sect of the Nazarenes. Eventually, they, along with the Essenes, the Bethusians, and the Sadducees, and other ancient Jewish sects were outlawed and declared heretics by Jewish Leaders around the year 78 C.E. The Jewish Leaders declared after the destruction of the second Temple around 70 C.E. that blood was no longer needed for atonement only Prayer was needed. These Leaders omitted Lev. 17:11 where it declares, "The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls." They also fail to teach Yahuah made provisions for a time when there is no Temple. Yahuah gives instructions as to what may and may not be used as an Alter and where to build an Alter. Read Exodus 20:24 An altar of earth you shall make unto me, and shall sacrifice thereon your burnt offerings, and your peace offerings, your sheep, and your oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto you, and I will bless you. 25 And if you wilt make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone for if you lift up your tool upon it, you have polluted it. The place where Yahuah records his name is anywhere where two or more declare to the world that Yahuah is the True Creator of all that exist and that Yahusha is the Only Begotten Son of Yahuah.
Messianics rose in the Roman Empire, Jewish believers in Yahusha were increasingly persecuted by the Church (Christians) for keeping their faith in the commandments of the Torah. Keeping the Passover, became a capital crime in the nations of the Church. Under the leadership of Constantine the Christian church grew by changing Yahuah's Sabbath's with Pagan holidays effectively undermining what was being taught by Yahusha's true followers and the very Laws of Yahuah. As Christianity and Paganism became one in the same it was easier to blame everyone troubles on the Hebrews. Therefore the "war" against Yahuah's true followers begun in earnest and continues even today.
Now, even as Israel has been re-born as a nation, so too has Messianic Hebrews.
In the later part of the 1960's a movement called the Messianic
Jews came into being. Their teachings are much the same as the "Christians"
and in 1985 a small group of people established the Messianic Hebrews Movement.
Which follow the teachings in the Torah much more closely while accepting
the fact that The Messiah has came once and is coming again.
